Research interests
The Sefton lab develops artificial tissues for use in regenerative medicine.
Biomaterials and biomaterial based therapeutics, particularly cell delivery scaffolds, are agonists of biological responses.
The Sefton lab aims to improve the regenerative capacity of biomaterial-based therapeutics by understanding these unique responses and developing materials to take advantage of them. By applying fundamental principles of chemical and biomedical engineering, the Sefton lab aims to design and characterize regenerative biomaterial-based therapies for a wide range of applications.
